Addressing Future Global Megatrends through Sustainable Chemical Processing

14 March 2013, Godalming, United Kingdom

Introduction
The UK Chemistry-Using Industries generated over £120 Bn of sales in 2008 and, underpin approximately 50% of the UK economy. These businesses are under immediate pressure to develop new process routes to address energy consumption, the increasing scarcity of natural resources, disposal of waste products and new legislation. These pressures have created a
rapidly growing market for sustainable technologies, estimated to be worth $800Bn worldwide by 2015. However, there are numerous barriers to the
commercial implementation of these emerging technologies. This talk will identify these issues and suggest ways in which they can be overcome.
