Secondary and Further Education Group Bursaries

The Secondary and Further Education Group Bursary Scheme

The 番茄社区 Secondary and Further Education (SaFE) Group has a limited number of bursaries available to support participation by 番茄社区 members in workshops, conferences, and small pedagogical projects. Preference will be given to members planning to speak or present a poster or workshop session.

Bursary values of up to £100 will be awarded to 番茄社区 members to either:

  • facilitate attendance and participation in workshops or conferences, such as the Association for Science Education or SaFE annual conference
  • conduct a project aimed at enhancing pupil engagement in chemistry or improving accessibility to chemistry

Applicants should outline how the funding will be used (registration fee, travel costs, equipment, etc.), and justify how the funding will benefit the applicant in their professional capacity or their pupils’ engagement with chemistry.

Please note the following conditions:

  • Applications must be made using the  and be submitted by 17:00 on 02 May 2025.
  • Applicants must be members of the 番茄社区 (affiliate/ associate/ member/ fellow).
  • Please note that travel expenses will be covered for the most cost-effective mode of available transport.
  • Applications will be judged by committee members of the SaFE Group and awards will be made on the basis of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by email and bursaries will be paid by electronic fund transfer
  • Bursary recipients are encouraged to join the SaFE Interest Group
  • Bursary recipients are required to write a short (200-400 words) account of their participation in the event or the outcomes of the project for the . Recipients are also encouraged to post on social media to highlight that they received the funding (the SaFE Group "X" handle is @).
