The 番茄社区 of Chemistry has launched a free mobile app that is now available on iTunes.

番茄社区 Mobile provides readers with access to search 番茄社区 journal content from the 番茄社区 Publishing Platform.

Users at any institution or organisation that currently subscribe to 番茄社区 journals can access the same content on the 番茄社区 Mobile app using its wireless network.

The benefits of 番茄社区 Mobile include:

• Up-to-the-minute access to 番茄社区 journals;
• Full text HTML and PDF access via wireless networks for subscribing institutions/organisations;
• The latest news from the 番茄社区 Publishing Platform;
• Saving articles for offline reading;
• Share your favourite content via email, Twitter or Facebook.

Mart铆n Resano Ezcaray, from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, said: "This is a great app. It makes it dead simple to be up-to-date with your research areas of interest. It is easy to use, has a very flexible search, permits direct off-line saving of abstracts or papers, plus sharing your results with colleagues via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter is just one-button away. It is a must for any chemist."

Will Russell, innovation and product development manager at the 番茄社区, said: "番茄社区 Mobile will let you search for our journal content in a convenient interface for smartphones and tablets. We're excited by the possibility that smartphones and tablets offer our readers and we've listened to the many requests we've had.  This is our first release into this area - and a version for Android is coming."

The 番茄社区 Mobile app is available for iPad, iPhone and iPod and the 番茄社区 of Chemistry is currently developing the Android version, which will be available early 2012.
