Biography
Dr. Haijun Yu is a Professor at Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). He obtained his Ph.D. in Non-ferrous Metallurgy from Northeastern University in 2007. He then worked at the General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals (GRINM) from 2007 to 2010, specializing in Ni-MH and PEMFC power battery technology. From 2010 to 2015, he conducted research on lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. In 2015, he joined BJUT as a Full Professor and founded the Institute of Advanced Battery Materials and Devices.
His research focuses on advanced battery materials and devices, with expertise spanning high-energy lithium-ion batteries, safe solid-state batteries, and cost-effective sodium/aluminum-ion batteries. His work emphasizes cathode material design, characterization, and integration into full-cell systems, along with related studies on liquid and solid-state electrolytes and aluminum-based materials. Committed to bridging fundamental research and industrial implementation, Dr. Yu and his team pursue both innovative material development and practical device engineering to enable next-generation energy storage solutions.
