Awarded by the Colloid and Interface Science Group
The group supports and promotes colloid and interface science, which is an important area of knowledge which underpins a very wide variety of both fundamental and applied science. In recent years, to present a more coherent front for colloid science, particularly in the UK, the group works closely with its sister group in the SCI, and all meetings of either group are now co-sponsored.

About this prize
The Thomas Graham Lecture is a mid-career award for a researcher who has established an international reputation in colloid science, and who has already made distinguished contributions to the field, with a substantial part of their work conducted in the UK. The Graham Lecture will typically be awarded to researchers who have completed postgraduate study between 15 and 30 years before their nomination. Currently-serving members of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø/SCI Joint Colloids Group Committee are not eligible for the award.
The award is named after Thomas Graham, who is considered one of the founders of colloid science. The award was made every three years until 2017, but it was awarded biennially thereafter.
Nominations are made by members of the sponsoring groups: SCI CSCG and ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø CISG.
