The meeting plays an important role in maintaining the vitality of the UK spectroscopy and dynamics research community, and provides a key forum for the younger members of the community (graduate students and postdocs) to present their work and to interact with one another and with more senior researchers. Most of the oral presentation slots at the conference are given over to younger researchers, but several established researchers from the UK and overseas are also invited to give stimulating plenary lectures on cutting-edge topics.
