Chemical Engineering for Scientists

Introduction
A professional development course presenting the principles and general philosophy of chemical engineering to chemists and scientists working in the chemical and process industries. The course aims to increase scientists' understanding of basic chemical engineering concepts and encourage effective communication between the disciplines. It is delivered by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and is presented by a team of professional engineers and academics via a mixture of lectures and workshops. Topics covered include material flow and energy balances, fluid flow, process heat transfer, reactor design, basic mass transfer and mass transfer operations, solids processing, biochemical engineering, and electrostatic ignition hazards in chemical operations.
