·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Meet the Editors are specially curated programs by the Editors and Publishing team, aimed to provide researchers with a platform to interact and engage with experts from India & International board members.​ The platform offers researchers (mostly early career) an opportunity to gain insights on: tips on writing research papers, how to publish with maximum impact, and insights on ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøâ€™s peer review process.

Speakers
Professor Karen Wilson, Griffith University, Australia

Professor Wilson is currently a Professor of Catalysis at the Centre for Catalysis and Clean Energy at Griffith University in Australia and previously held professorial positions at RMIT University (2018-23) and Aston University (2013-17). At Aston, she was also the Research Director of the European Bioenergy Research Institute and held a prestigious ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Industry Fellowship in collaboration with Johnson Matthey.

Karen holds a BA and PhD from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in heterogeneous catalysis from the University of Liverpool and has also held academic positions at the University of York and Cardiff University. Karen’s research interests lie in the design of tuneable porous materials for sustainable biofuels and chemical production from renewable resources.

Recent projects have spanned the conversion of biomass from municipal, agricultural or forestry waste to fuels and chemicals, and the transformation of bakery waste to additives for application in coatings and polymers. She has also worked on de-pollution technologies to remove organic contaminants from wastewater in the seafood industry and palm and olive oil plantations in Southeast Asia.

Karen is Editor-in-Chief of Sustainable Energy & Fuels (·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry) and an Editorial Board member for Energy & Environmental Science (·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry). She is also a co-investigator and theme leader on the recently funded Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence, "Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide" - GetCO2.


Professor C N Tharamani, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, India

Professor Tharamani is currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Ropar, India. Her research interests include the design and development of new materials with a focus on energy conversion/storage and biosensing applications, and in-depth fundamental analysis of the newly designed electrocatalysts by various electrochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic, and scanning probe techniques.

Thara is a recipient of several prestigious fellowships such as the Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship, Germany, and the Ramanujan Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. She is a Fellow of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry admitted through the “Leaders in the field” scheme and an elected Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society.

She is a recipient of the CRSI-Bronze Medal 2023 from the Chemical Research Society of India and the Silver Medal of CRS 2023 from the Society Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha, as well as the ECSI National Metrohm Award 2023 from the Electrochemical Society of India and the A.V. Rama Rao prize for Women 2024 from the Chemical Research Society of India. She is an Editor of ZAAC (Wiley), and an Editorial Board Member of Electrocatalysis (Springer Nature) and Sustainable Energy and Fuels (·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry).


Professor Asif Qureshi, IIT Hyderabad, India

Asif Qureshi is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad. He is also the head of the Department of Climate Change at IIT Hyderabad. He received his D.Sc. in Environmental Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich.

The overarching theme of his work is environmental health. His research group uses measurements and/or modeling to better understand the biogeochemical cycling of, and/ or exposure to, chemicals under present and future environmental scenarios. They often work collaboratively and seek to create knowledge from local to global scale studies that may help impact environmental health and policy decisions.


Professor Adam F Lee, Griffith University, Australia

Adam is Visiting Professor of Sustainable Chemistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR, Singapore), and previously held Chair appointments at Cardiff, Warwick, Monash, Aston, RMIT and Griffith Universities. His research addresses the rational design of nanoengineered materials for energy and environmental applications. He is a Fellow of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry and Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Associate Fellow of the IChemE, Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today Chemistry, Associate Editor of Energy & Environmental Materials and recipient of the 2011 McBain Medal, 2012 Beilby Medal and Prize, and 2023 RACI Welcome Award. Adam has co-authored >300 publications (h=index 89, 28106 cites) and is a co-investigator and Flagship Project co-lead on the recently funded ARC Centre of Excellence ‘Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide’ GetCO2.


Edward Gardner, ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry, United Kingdom

Edward is the Deputy Editor for Energy & Environmental Science (EES), EES Batteries, EES Catalysis, EES Solar, Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Energy Advances. He received his master’s degree in chemistry and physics from Durham University in 2018 and joined the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry later the same year as a Publishing Editor working on the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø’s physical chemistry and nanoscience journals. Since then, he has supported many of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø’s leading physical chemistry, nanoscience, green and sustainable chemistry and energy journals as a Development Editor and Deputy Editor. He also led the organisation of the 2022 and 2023 #·¬ÇÑÉçÇøPoster conferences.


Professor Sounak Roy, BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, India

Professor Roy received his doctoral studies at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2008. He then pursue his post-doctoral research at University of Pennsylvania, and University of Delaware, USA (2010-2012), He was also a post-doctoral Fellow at ETH, Zürich, Switzerland (2008 - 2010). He joined Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani-Hyderabad Campus in 2012 where he is currently serving as a Professor and Dean. His research interests include solid state chemistry, materials science, electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction, perovskites and other energy materials.


Professor C Malla Reddy, IIT Hyderabad, India

Professor C Malla Reddy received his PhD in Crystal Engineering in 2006 from the University of Hyderabad and took up Post-Doctoral Research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany (2007 – 2008). He had been an Honorary Visiting Scientist to University of Bradford (2015-18) and a recipient of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry’s Mobility Grant, Distinguished Lectureship Award from the Chemical Society of Japan (2017) and Swarnajayanti Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, India. He is a Co-editor of Acta Crystallogr. B and served as an Associate Editor for ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Advances in 2015-16. He served on the Local Organizing Committee of IUCr2017@Hyderabad, India. His research group is engaged in understanding mechanical properties of organic solids, including pharmaceutical and optoelectronic crystals. Some of his well-known contributions include the discovery of flexible elastic and plastic organic crystals, designing flexible crystals using Supramolecular Shape Synthons, etc.


Dr Aayushi Arora, ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry, India, India

Dr. Aayushi Arora has completed her Ph.D in 2021 from Doon University in inorganic chemistry. During her PhD, she became the recipient of the Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM (WISTEMM) in 2019 which allowed her to be an Indo-US intern at Texas A&M University in 2020 for 6 months. After completing her doctoral degree, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate under the supervision of Prof. John A. Gladysz at Texas A&M University. In 2023, she joined ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø of Chemistry as Assistant Editorial Development Manager. She is managing the interdisciplinary, environment and sustainability journals’ portfolio in India. As a part of her role, she works quite extensively with the scientific community, various Indian chemical societies, and researchers across various disciplines of Chemical Sciences and support the journal teams.
