The International Symposium on Metal Ions in Biology and Medicine has been organized every two years, since 1990.
Following the tradition of these successful symposium series, the XII edition will promote a good environment where the researchers from all over the world will have the opportunity to share their work and exchange knowledge related with metal ions in biology and medicine.
The Scientific Program will include plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations covering a multidisciplinary research agenda with topics related with metals and semimetals in biology and medicine. The main topics will be:
- Metal-based drugs
- Advanced analytical methods for metal ions in biochemical and biological systems
- Nutritional aspects of trace and major elements
- Metal ions in environmental health
- Structural Biology of Metalloproteins, among others
